After cultivating a plant in a controlled environment such as a greenhouse, the resulting seeds(tubers) are obtained. Tubers are then harvested from these plants and propagated vegetatively from one tuber to another. Through a meticulous six-step process of propagation and testing conducted annually, only the highest- quality tubers are retained as superior seed. These selected tubers are subsequently transferred to the farmers for cultivation.

The Problem

Import Dependency

Economic Impact

The importation of potato seeds exert detrimental effects on our economy which contributes to rising prices, impacting small farmers who struggle to meet the elevated costs due to market competition and fluctuating dollar rates.

Self-Sufficiency Concerns

An excessive dependence on imports hinders the development of self-sufficiency in the domestic agricultural sector, posing challenges to its growth and stability in the long run.
